
Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI), a leading center of law studies and judicial training in Dubai, recently held a periodical meeting chaired by Essam Al Humaidan, Attorney General and DJI Chairman, and with the presence of Dr. Ahmed Bin Hazim, Dubai Courts Director General and Vice Chairman, and members including Ahmed Bin Humaidan, Dubai e-Government Director General, Dr. Jamal Al Sumaiti, DJI Director General, Dr. Ahmed Eid Al Mansouri, Dubai Police Academy Deputy Director,Counsel Abdul Monem Sweidan, and meeting rapporteur Ruba Abdurrab.
At the beginning of meeting, Dr. Ahmed Bin Hazim, Dubai Courts Director General, was unanimously named Vice Chairman. The meeting also featured a review of DJI's progress report for 2010, where all members commended the initiatives and programs implemented, which were all in line with the strategy aimed at reinforcing the UAE’s position on the international legal map and supporting its strategic plans.
The Board of Directors also approved the formation of DJI's Scientific Council for 2011, chaired by the Institute's Director General. Members of the Council include Judge Omar Juma Al Fujair, Judge Dr. Abdullah Al Shamsi, Public Prosecutor Younes Hussein Al Baloushi, Public Prosecutor Mohammed Hussein bin Ali, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abu Zaid, Professor of Civil Law, Dr. Mohammed Al Dhwaini, Assistant Professor of Comparative Jurisprudence, Dr. Abdul Razeq Al Mwafi, Assistant Professor of Criminal Law, and Counsel Abdul Rahman Al Sha'er, Head of RTA's Legal Affairs Department, in addition to Kamel Mahmood as Secretary.

Considering the number of beneficiaries from DJI's training programs compared to previous years, we are confident about the Institute's progress and its strategic plans that aim to complement the visions of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, and H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai," said Essam Al Humaidan, Attorney General and DJI Chairman.
