Wataniya Telecom and Kuwait Society of Engineers Inaugurate “Wataniya Hall”

Kuwait May 16th 2012:

Wataniya Telecom announced the official inauguration of the “Wataniya Hall” located at the Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE) premises which took place on Tuesday, May 15th, 2012. The ceremony was attended by General Manager and CEO of Wataniya Telecom, Scott Gegenheimer as well as Husam Al-Khorafi Head of KSE in addition to a number of officials from both Wataniya Telecom and KSE.

A ribbon cutting marked the official opening of the Hall which serves as a room to host training courses and workshops at KSE and is equipped with high-end audio and video technology. The Hall was renovated and branded by Wataniya Telecom and will be called the “Wataniya Hall”.

Facilitating the Car Maintenance Process Oula Installs Air and Water Towers at 20 of its Stations

As part of Oula Fuel Marketing Company’s ongoing efforts to upgrade and add valuable services to its existing and new stations, the company has recently installed new air and water towers in 20 stations with the goal to complete installation in the remaining stations in the upcoming year.

Paladin Capital Group and Abu Dhabi’s Invest A.D. to launch MENA private equity joint venture

WASHINGTON/ABU DHABI, May 14 – U.S. private investment company Paladin Capital Group and Abu Dhabi-based investment company Invest A.D. have established a private equity joint venture that will channel investments into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and Turkey.

The joint venture between Paladin Capital (Middle East) Limited, a company registered in the Dubai International Financial Centre and regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority, and Invest A.D., a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Council -- a leading sovereign wealth fund -- plans to launch a $100 million fund to tap growing global investor interest in new emerging markets growth opportunities.

Deloitte: Oil and gas sector short of critical talent in the Middle East

- Deloitte: Executives indicate critical talent shortages in the oil and gas sector inoperations, information technology, risk and regulatory, and research and development

9 May, 2012 – In a Deloitte report entitled the Talent Edge 2020: Redrafting talent strategies for the uneven recovery, experts focused on the oil and gas sector, to gauge the talent trends in the growing industry. Of the key findings, the majority of the surveyed oil and gas executives anticipate a looming talent shortage in all skill categories, the most pressing of which is in operations (81%).

The Deloitte report is based on the responses of 376 executives, 34% of which from Europe, Middle Eastand Africa, outlining key talent-related challenges across industries. Findings indicate that critical talent shortages, retention programs, and the growing reliance on discovering global talent are top concerns for oil and gas executives.
